Samsung is set to showcase its latest innovation at CES, introducing the Flex four-door refrigerator with AI Family Hub+. This smart fridge takes kitchen management to the next level by developing recipes tailored to users’ stocked ingredients and dietary preferences.
The refrigerator boasts an internal chamber equipped with advanced AI capabilities, allowing it to identify individual foods and suggest recipes based on the available stock. Additionally, users can seamlessly stream content from their Galaxy smartphones to the Family Hub’s 32-inch touchscreen display, offering entertainment options such as TikTok and YouTube.
While a similar model was introduced in 2023, the updated version integrates with the Samsung Health profile via Family Hub. This enhancement enables the fridge to adapt recipes according to the owner’s dietary needs, aligning with the growing trend of personalized health and wellness.
Despite some limitations, with Samsung’s Vision AI feature recognizing up to 33 foods, users can manually input expiration dates for items on the touchscreen. The fridge then provides timely notifications when items are nearing expiration.
Samsung envisions this smart fridge as a central element in its broader ecosystem of AI-enabled kitchen appliances, including AI ovens. In a synchronicity of innovations, the upcoming Anyplace cooktop model, featuring a pull-out cooktop, will complement this ecosystem. Both models include seven-inch LCD screens for viewing recipes from Samsung Food while cooking, enhancing the overall culinary experience. The integration of AI into everyday kitchen appliances marks a significant step toward smart, connected homes, making daily tasks more efficient and enjoyable.
