Amazon India kicked off its Great Indian Festival 2026 with historic momentum, recording a 100% year-over-year increase in product order volume during its opening phase. According to Saurabh Srivastava, Vice President at Amazon India, the initial demand surpassed internal expectations as orders poured in from every pin-code across the country. The sales surge highlights a expanding e-commerce adoption footprint that spans beyond tier-one metros into India’s tier-two and tier-three towns.
To lower purchase friction for value-conscious consumers, Amazon deployed flexible payment options including instant bank discounts, cashback incentives, no-cost EMIs, and Amazon Pay Later. Consequently, one out of every two shoppers utilized credit or EMI facilities, while one in three purchases received direct cashback rewards.
Scaling digital retail across emerging regional markets requires robust logistics infrastructure paired with accessible consumer financing. Converting nationwide holiday demand into sustained volume growth cements Amazon’s leadership position across South Asian e-commerce ecosystems.
