Google finally introduces the local search features announced earlier this year, including the ability to search around with your phone’s camera.
At the Google Search On virtual conference in September, people were discussing innovative local search updates.
Google has previously introduced the ability to search restaurants for food and a new search feature built into Live View on Google Maps.
These updates and much more are already available. Here is an overview of the local search updates that are running today.
Updates to Google Local Search
Real Time Search
Next week, Google Maps Live View will be deployed in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo on Android and iOS.
Searching with Live View allows you to use your phone’s camera to search for information about places around you. Find out if the business is open, how busy it is, the range of prices and its star rating. «Multi search near me» Google is launched today in English in the USA. Now you can use Lens in the Google app to take a photo or take a screen shot with a dish, add the words «next to me» and immediately find the place that sells near.
Find fast charging stations for electric vehicles
Google adds a filter to find charging stations for electric vehicles, which simplifies the search for fast chargers. Find «Charging stations for electric vehicles» and select «Fast charging» filter. You will see stations with 50 kW or higher chargers.
You can also filter stations that offer the type of plug of your electric vehicle in more countries.
These features are already available on Android and iOS in countries where electric car charging stations are available.
Find wheelchair accessible places in other countries
The ability to search for wheelchair-accessible and stairless seats on Google is now available worldwide.

After you enable the «Available Seats» option in the Google Maps app, you will see a wheelchair icon in the business profiles if it has an entry for people with disabilities.
If the location is not accessible to wheelchairs, you will see the same crossed-out icon.
