Artificial intelligence may be approaching a major turning point for office workers, according to Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman.

In recent comments, Suleyman suggested that AI systems could soon reach human-level performance across a wide range of professional tasks. Jobs involving computer-based work, including accounting, legal services, marketing, and project management, could experience substantial automation over the next 12 to 18 months.

His prediction reflects a broader trend among technology leaders who believe AI development is accelerating rapidly. Improvements in computing power and increasingly capable models are creating expectations that software may eventually perform many tasks traditionally handled by humans.

However, evidence from current real-world deployments remains mixed. While companies are experimenting with AI in professional environments, large-scale workforce disruption has yet to fully materialize.
