It’s no secret that the video calls we use so often don’t look realistic enough. Poor camera quality and improper home lighting leave a lot to be desired.

To change this, Google took over and presented a prototype of a new device called Project Starline. With the help of 3D imaging, a super hi-res 8K screen, four GPUs, four microphones, and a whole lot of cameras, Google has managed to achieve incredible quality – you get a feeling that the interlocutor is behind crystal clear glass right in front of you.

While it’s still a prototype, it already gives us a clue that in the future we will have a completely new level of video conferencing, incomparable to what we have now.
