EcoFlow has unveiled an intriguing innovation: the Power Hat, a solar-powered headgear that doubles as a phone charger. This wide-brimmed, floppy sun hat incorporates solar cells and promises to keep your devices charged while you’re out in the sun. Priced at $129, the Power Hat can fully charge a 4,000mAh smartphone in approximately 3–4 hours, making it a perfect companion for outdoor enthusiasts and desert wanderers alike.
Crafted with PERC monocrystalline silicon, the Power Hat’s solar cells are thin and flexible. The hat delivers around 12 watts of power through USB-A and USB-C connectors located on the underside of the brim. Weighing just 370 grams, it combines functionality with lightweight comfort.
The Power Hat boasts an IP65 rating, ensuring it is dust-proof and resistant to water jets from any angle. However, while it should handle typical rain and dust, it might not survive a direct blast from a super soaker aimed at its USB ports.
The hat is available in two adjustable sizes: 56–58cm (22–22.8 inches) and 59–61cm (23.2–24 inches), catering to a variety of head sizes. Preorders for the Power Hat are open until August 31st, with shipping expected to begin in mid-September.
